About the job

We are looking for someone with a burning interest in glass craftsmanship who wants to preserve the cultural heritage that lives on through glass production in Kosta. Here you will be offered a varied job with glass and people at one of Sweden's oldest glassworks.

You will primarily work with knowledgeable glass craftsmen to take care of our visitors and public activities, mainly in the try-it-out section.

It is meritorious to have cash handling experience, be service-minded, and cooperative.

Job Responsibilities

In the role of glassblower in the exhibition activities, your main tasks will be to:

• Work with try-it-out experiences with customers.
• Guide and explain using terms and concepts related to glass craftsmanship.
• Manufacture desired glass products together with customers and for sale.
• Handle bookings and respond to emails.
• Manage shipping and delivery of glass to customers.

Skills and Qualifications

It is an advantage if you have a 3-year education in glass craftsmanship or equivalent.

We also welcome your application if you have a genuine interest in learning the craft without prior knowledge!

This means you should be able to shape and blow glass by hand according to the desired product design with customers or for special orders for the exhibition activities.

We expect you to be empathetic, unpretentious, cheerful, positive, and outgoing in your interactions and willing to contribute to creating a great experience for our visitors.

You should be pedagogical and understand the craft to convey it to our customers and speak both Swedish and English to welcome visitors and provide them with the best experience of our glassworks in Kosta.

You are responsible for ensuring that the execution of the experience packages is professional and that the tasks are carried out effectively.

Being a team player within the work team and at the workplace, customer-focused, understanding customer needs, and being service-oriented and solution-oriented.

Languages: Swedish and English, fluent in speaking and writing, other languages are a plus.

Computer skills: Must be able to work effortlessly in relevant programs.

The position is based in the exhibition activities at Orrefors Kosta Boda AB, Kosta Glassworks.

Duration: Summer employment with the possibility of extra hours. Number of positions: 1-3

Salary: Hourly wage according to collective agreement.

Start date: By agreement.
